MA in Devised Theatre in association with The Paper Birds

Study at Post-Grad Level with us!

From September 2024 you’ll get the opportunity to study at Post Graduate level with The Paper Birds when we begin our very own Masters Degree with the University of Chichester.

The MA in Devised Theatre in association with The Paper Birds will launch next autumn, from the University’s Chichester (Bishop’s Otter) Campus. The programme will focus on devised and collaborative theatre making, emphasising socially engaged and applied arts practices. You’ll learn to shape your individual practice, collaborate, and create and produce wraparound services and projects.

The course runs over 1 year full time, 2 years part time and all modules are delivered in person and complimented by intensive residences in the spring and summer semesters. Here’s a breakdown of how the course will run: 

The Course 

What you will study

Central to ALL of the University of Chichester’s Masters courses is a core hub of modules:

15 credits       Research Methodologies

An introduction to postgraduate study and research

15 credits       Cultural Identity and Performance

Critical/Practical Research Project

60 credits       Developmental Project

Practice-led Research and Development project, including a written dissertation

The remaining 90 credits form the specific programme and experience. The delivery of these modules will mostly take place in the Summer.*

30 Credits       Shaping Practice (CPD)

15 Credits       Sharing Practice (CPD)

All modules are delivered in-person, and complimented by intensive residences in the spring and summer semesters.
