IN A MONTH OF FALLEN SUNDAYS

Apples and hymns, forbidden fruit and dangerous books tell the hidden tragedy of the women and girls trapped in Ireland’s Magdalene asylums.

Based on the lives of those forced to live and work in the Magdalene Asylums, In a Month of Fallen Sundays told the story of one room and the many women who had passed through it. A tragic tale of women classed as ‘sinners’ being punished for their non-existent crimes retreating into their own minds; a place where where books are filled with apples and wardrobes are filled with stars.
